Headstone for Colonel James Mead, August 25, 1730 - January 19, 1804. Evergreen Cemetery, Rutland, Vermont

Inscription: First white settler in the Otter Creek Valley.  Moderator of the first Mreeman's Meeting, First Selectman elected, Representative to the first Legislature of Vermont, Colonel of the Third Vt. Colonial Regt.
